Trina Yank started her new position as the Family Support Worker with Piruqatigiit in summer 2022. She’s originally from Pangnirtung, Nunavut.

Before she moved to Iqaluit, she was living in Naujaat for 8 years working with Kivalliq Counselling and Support Services. As community counselor, she traveled all over Kivalliq doing family support with families who needed emotional support & residential school survivors and their families, and was a member of the crisis response team. She also facilitated programs in Naujaat such as mitts making, parka making, qamutik making and an elder’s gathering once in a while. She loved working with people in Kivalliq and meeting new people. She’s hoping to do same with the Piruqatigiit team, connect with children and learn more and be part of their growth self esteem.

Trina has 5 beautiful kids, she enjoys the outdoors especially ice fishing and family picnics and loves berry picking.
