We were elated to have Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, join Piruqatigiit team and families on July 8th to talk about the important work we do to promote the mental health and well-being of Nunavummiut. We spent the morning talking with caregivers and youth, some of whom have attended our Arctic Inspiration Prize winning program, Ajunngittutit Community Learning Program. It was a joy to also have Shelagh Rogers to share in conversations with Her Excellency about well-being, inclusive spaces for learning and the foundation of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit to promote well-being, connection to community and ensuring equity, accessibility and inclusion for Nunavummiut with neurodiversities.
